Do all moms worry?

This post is going to be a little more serious than the last one.

Several nights ago, Dave noticed that Jacob was making some odd head movements. He would nod his head up and down and then side to side. When asked what he was doing, he replied that he was just spelling words in his head. That might make most parents laugh or feel proud, but it scared me. That reply was just too similar to the one he gave us last May after his petit mal seizures.

We have not been extremely vigilant about his anti-seizure medicine lately and that could explain the problem. Still, it is scary to think of what would be going on in his brain if not for for the medication. That is what has me up before 5:00 in the morning posting to my blog. He was lying next to me asleep (yes, that is a subject for a whole different post) and making humming sounds in his sleep. I am sure he was simply dreaming, but the fear and the worry have me reading in to every little out of the ordinary mannerism or sound. I don't know how long it will take for that to finally fade away. Perhaps when you are a Mom, it never does, no matter what your shild has been through.

So, Jacob is scheduled for an EEG on Monday to see what activity is going on in that little brain of his. I am sure it is nothing serious - after all it has only been six months since his surgery. I will, of course, post the results!

I completely understand how you're feeling - it's so hard. I'll be thinking about you guys - hope the EEG goes well.

We'll keep you guys in our prayers.

It isn't the same thing exactly, but the other day Chet had unexplained pain that made us all think he was clotting. That stomach wrenching, sleep-preventing worry kept me up all the next night even after I knew he was okay. I can really empathize with you.

I hope everything turns out well at the EEG.

Jenn - I have you and your little boy in my prayers. I hope it is nothing but normal kid brain activity. Sending you a BIG HUG.

I do think all mothers worry like that, and you have a special reason to be concerned. I am praying for good results with the EEG. Kelly

I hope that you get all good news from the tests, the waiting is awful to endure. My husband had a brain tumor in 1996 and I can empathize to some degree (husband vs. child) with the stress that you're feeling. I will say prayers for you that it will be okay, and I hope you know that there are lots of cyber hugs out there being sent your way.

I do think we all worry, but you especially have a little more reason to do so IYKWIM.
