Love these Girls!

Eighteen years ago I made a decision that was HUGE - a decision that would alter the course of my life and make an impression upon who I am today. I made a decision to join Phi Sigma Sigma in the spring of 1988. The first and most obvious thing I got from that decision was an amazing group of girlfriends. (I'll get back to them later) But I gained so much more from joining a sorority. My grades went up (mandatory study hours). I improved key skills that I use in my job and personal life (leadership, time management, team work). But THE most important thing I learned was the value of friendship. Any time I needed a friend, I always had a sister I could call. We were there for each other, in good times and bad.

This past weekend, a bunch of us went back to Clarion for ALF (translates to Autumn Leaf Festival and Homecoming). It was wonderful to see everyone, catch up on the new happenings, meet spouses and children, and reminisce about our college days. It really was a fun weekend (although I missed everyone that could not make it!) In hindsight, I wish I had kept in better touch with everyone. How is it that we get so caught up in our lives that we neglect the people that make us so happy? I am really going to try to do better, even if it just by e-mail!

And just to share something scrapbook related, here is a layout I did for Scrapjazz this past year. You can read the whole article here.

Well said Jen. It was great to see everyone at ALF and catch up. I love your scrapbook pages. It motivates me to start my own and preserve those great memories because it goes by too fast.
