Pets & Vets

The last year has involved twelve visits to our veterinarian. For those of you that have pets, you know that one or two visits a year is usually all it takes to keep a pet healthy. And that is all we have had to do for our younger cat, Cocoa. But Calico and Beau are different stories.

Calico is hyperthyroid and has arthrytis. She has had bloodwork done five times this year to check her levels. She has more needle holes in her than a street punk. The hyperthyrroid has also given her a drinking problem.

Beau has smoker's cough... or so it sounds. We highly suspect that he is going out for smoke breaks while we are at work. The vet has done x-rays and complete blood work. Nothing. So he is now on steroids and we expect him to become a professional body builder at any time.

And still, with all their problems, we love them. At least I know I do. I'll have to ask Dave on a day that he has not had to steam clean the carpet.

Luckily they have loving owners like you who will do whatever it takes to keep them comfortable.

How hard it must be to not know what is wrong. I don't take all 3 of my kids to the doctor that much... combined. You are a good mommy. :)

LOL about not steaming the carpet. We have a hairball problem here. It's been years since I've taken our cats into the vet. I keep telling Joe I need to do that. Augh. I better make that appt. I used to be really good about it too!
