Coloring My World

Most of my life is neutrals and earth tones. I don't think I realized it until recently, when I decided to paint my scrapbook room walls a nice shade of blue. It was bold for me, and I still love it. When I saw the color class at Big Picture Scrapbooking, taught by Carol Wingert, I just knew I had to sign up! I recently took a class in person from Carol, and she is such an inspiration.

The class began today, just as I am packing to visit family for a few days. I took a quick walk through my house, completely shocked at how little red I use in my decorating. Besides a few decorative accents, the color red is practically non-existent. For someone who wants a nice red front door to greet guests, I should have more red in my life.

Since there was no red inspiration to be found in my house, I went to one of my favorite inspiration websites, a stock photo site. I typed in the word "red" in the search engine, and found 203,345 images to inspire me. Santa, Valentine hearts, Strawberries, licorice, apples, balloons, velvet, stop signs, roses, sunsets, poppies, watermelon, geraniums, cardinals, fall leaves, bricks, gingham, pom poms, chili peppers, cranberries, Icees, Coke cans. All of a sudden, I am seeing red all around me.
If you are taking this class with me - I can't wait to see what you do in the gallery! If you aren't - I'll be posting my layouts weekly on my blog, too!

I seriously can not remember the last time I heard that song. That brings back some memories!

Sounds like a great class. I am a pretty neutral person, myself, but I definitely think color is good. Can't wait to see some of your projects!

I'm looking forward to seeing your layouts from Carol's class. I've yet to begin mine but hope to get around to starting soon.
