What Does Peace Mean to YOU?

I stopped by Brighton yesterday when I was at the mall - specifically to get this limited edition bracelet. I love a good cause as much as I love a beautiful piece of jewely, and I get both with this purchase. Five dollars from each bracelet sale goes to one of three charities. I chose USA Cares for my charity - a cause that supports military personnel and their families. Follow this Peace Bracelet link to find out more about the bracelet and the charities.

I love that it comes with a little booklet, full of quotes and thoughts on what peace means to different people. Like this from Daniela in Austria: "It includes tolerance, acceptance, understanding, dialogue, solidarity, caring and happiness." And from Eleanor Roosevelt "It isn't enough to talk about peace. One must believe in it. And it isn't enough to believe in it. One must work on it." Both sentiments have the same underlying message, that peace can only be achieved through the positive action of all people.

Peace to me means simply the absence of hatred; in the world, in our schools, in our communities, and in our homes. What does it mean to you?

I think you summed up what peace means to me beautifully. It's really a combo of what you said and the quote by Mrs. Roosevelt.

You always have such poignant messages here. It's nice to hear someone say what I am often thinking.

Love this song, btw.
