As we begin September, my household is consumed with cramming all the fun into the last three days of summer vacation. Oh, and getting ready for back to school. In that order. So, it is no big surprise that my thoughts turn to my own third grade memories. Ah, who could forget the plaid and striped clothing in such beautiful shades or orange, green, seafoam, magenta and brown?
And you are in for a treat... a school photo of little Jennie Maine (that would be me). I could have been a beaver mascot with those big front teeth.
So, my blog banner inspiration came from that trip back to the 70s. The Brady Bunch, the Partridge Family, the Captain and Tennille, the Bee Gees, Welcome Back Kotter, and macrame. I hope it brings back some memories of your own. If you decide to share your own 1970s picture - leave a link! I'll draw a winner at random for those that participate. Who knows, maybe I will pull out some vintage macrame cord for the winner. (yes, that was my 70s hobby)
The owl graphic came from a dingbat font at House of Lime and the neat splat and font came from Gabrielle Magurno. The background is just plain circle brushes and lines in different colors.
