Happy Thanksgiving

As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them. ~John Fitzgerald Kennedy
Beautiful words, aren't they? As I sit here thinking about all that makes my life blessed, I have to wonder if I show that gratitude enough to those that mean the most to me.
For Dave, my best friend. For twenty years, he has been my partner; he is the best father a kid could want, and he puts up with my bad habits and understands me. And lest I forget - he rakes an acre of leaves without too many complaints - which makes him a hero in my eyes.

For Jacob, who will always be my baby, no matter what he says. He has brought a joy to my life that I never dreamed possible. He makes me laugh, and I love that this little guy has made me a better woman.

For my brothers, even though we don't see each other often enough. My fondest childhood memories are those I share with them. Each has grown into a man I can admire and be glad to call a friend. Both have wonderful wives that I love as sisters.

For all of my girlfriends, whose part in my life makes me so happy. I am grateful for all of the fun times and the laughter, the deeper moments that come with life's challenges, and all of the inspiration and advice.

(and on a lighter note, I am grateful for my health, even if I have struggled with this stupid cough for two weeks.)

I wish all of you the happiest of Thanksgivings - may yours be full of family, friends, and moments that make your realize your blessings.
