Extreme Photo Challenge

Armed with my new D50, I am ready to take on photo challenges and really go outside the box. I want to learn how this baby works, how to take better shots, and hot to use my photo editing software. Maureen Spell offered up a challenge today and I am excited to take it - http://scrapjazz.com/community/jazzclub/showthread.php?t=92735. On my way back from the deli today, I took these shots at Christ Church in Alexandria. I stay on the sidewalk there, so it was hard to get too many interesting angles. Plus the groundskeeper was mowing and didn't look good at all in my pictures. (I should have waited until he had cut the grass away for my picture.)
Besides getting photos for the challenge, I love that I am out taking pictures in Old Town Alexandria. I love Old Town. (Mary, are you reading this and laughing?) I love the Colonial architecture and the knowledge that I am walking in the footsteps of so many leaders of the past. I love the shops and the restaurants. I love the brick sidewalks (unless I am wearing heels) and the residents walking dogs. I am making it a personal goal to take more pictures in Old Town, so that I can record my own little record of its history. Even the current traffic and congestion, and the tourist season, much as they annoy me.
