Appreciated

I have been meaning to share a photo of some flowers that I received at work a few weeks ago. They weren't from Dave or Jacob or even from my parents. They were from someone I have never met and could not have come at a better time.

I have been feeling very disillusioned lately. It seems no one takes accountability for their procrastination (shush to anyone who knows me) , waiting until the last minute to ask for something and then expecting me to get right on it. I almost stopped caring about their needs. Almost. And then I received this beautiful bouquet of flowers for helping someone. Just doing my job, really.

The flowers reminded me that people don’t plan on needing extra help at my busiest time of the year. And most of them truly appreciate the help. These flowers remind me that I love my job – because I love helping people get what they need to become better at what they do for the Department of Defense.

Isn't it amazing how a few flowers and a simple thank you can help you feel better?

It's so nice to be appreciated sometimes isn't it. Beautiful flowers.
