Scrap Studio Decor

I have been debating for some time now how I want to add some warmth and design in to my scrapbook room studio. My biggest problem is that I have Ikea furniture, which is very functional and inexpensive. But it is just too contemporary for my taste. Here are some pictures I just snapped.
Notice the silver and birch with the black. And you can't help but see all the cords because the desks are so open. While all my storage systems are working, it looks awful and is not very inviting.

So, starting today, I am going to do an overhaul and make this a room I don't want to leave. (I hope Dave is not reading this because he thinks that is the way it is now.) Here are my first purchases towards that goal, all of which will be used to bring in some color. The prints are from Ballard Designs Ebay and the storage boxed are from Exposures. I'll update more as it comes together.

Your room looks great with the Ikea furniture! But I completely understand in making it a room you love. I'm sure it will be a fun journey and I look forward to watching it unfold.

Enjoy!

Loving the stuff you chose. I have IKEA too . . have that huge 25 cube shelving. I put in pops of red to liven the place and painted the walls a soft green. I ended up putting up shelves . . . top on has all those little flower pots the kids have decorated.

Can't wait to see pics of the "updated" space.
