Not very many people can say that they come from a town that has its own holiday. A day marked on calendars worldwide, and a day full of traditions that have been celebrated for more than 120 years. I can and am proud of it, even if it is because of a furry rodent.I am, of course, talking about Groundhog's Day on February 2. And I am posting about it five days early to give you all the time it takes to plan your own celebration accordingly. I must be honest and tell you that the only thing I ever do is bake groundhog gingerbread cookies with my groundhog shaped cookie cutter. And of course, I watch the news and laugh at all the crazy fools that get up (or never go to bed) and go trekking to the Knob at 4:00 am for ten minutes of ceremony.

OMG I didn't realise this was an actual thing. I only know it because of the movie "Groundhog Day" but I just thought it was fiction. OK OK I'm from Aus. cut me some slack ROFL.
